Olive Garden Breadsticks (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1¾ cups warm water (110-115˚F).
02 - 2¼ tsp active dry yeast (one ¼-oz packet).
03 - 2 Tbsp sugar.
04 - 1½ tsp salt.
05 - 1½ Tbsp butter, room temperature.
06 - 4½ to 5 cups all-purpose flour.
07 - 2 Tbsp butter (for topping).
08 - ½ tsp salt (for topping).
09 - ¼ tsp garlic powder (for topping).

# Instructions:

01 - Mix yeast and sugar with warm water in stand mixer bowl. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
02 - Add salt, butter, and 2 cups flour. Mix gently to combine.
03 - Slowly add remaining flour until dough becomes smooth.
04 - Switch to dough hook and knead for 10 minutes.
05 - Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour.
06 - Punch down dough and roll into a log. Cut log into 16-24 pieces.
07 - Roll each piece into ¾-inch thick breadsticks. Place on lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise 30-60 minutes.
08 - Spray tops with cooking spray and bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until golden.
09 - Mix melted butter with salt and garlic powder.
10 - Brush hot breadsticks with garlic butter mixture.

# Notes:

01 - Keep dough covered while working to prevent drying.
02 - For best results, let dough rise in a warm spot.
03 - Makes extra-long breadsticks when cut into 16 pieces, or regular-sized when cut into 24.
