We love this with a simple green salad or some roasted broccoli. Don't forget crusty garlic bread for soaking up that delicious sauce.

Success Tips

Room temperature sour cream is key no one wants a curdled sauce. Keep stirring those noodles they love to stick together. Sometimes I add fresh parmesan at the end it's not traditional but it's delicious.

Frequently Asked Questions

→ Why cook noodles in the same pan?

Cooking noodles in the sauce allows them to absorb the flavors while their starch helps thicken the sauce. It also saves washing an extra pot.

→ Why doesn't it reheat well?

The sour cream can separate when reheated, and the noodles continue absorbing sauce, becoming mushy. Best enjoyed fresh.

→ Can I use different mushrooms?

Yes, white button mushrooms work well too. Cremini (baby bella) mushrooms have a more robust flavor.

→ Why add lemon juice at the end?

Lemon juice brightens the rich flavors and balances the creamy sauce. Amount needed depends on sour cream tanginess.

→ How do I know if sauce needs more broth?

Watch the noodles as they cook. If mixture looks dry before noodles are tender, add more broth gradually up to the specified amount.

Conclusion

A delicious and convenient one-pan meal that brings together the classic flavors of beef stroganoff with simplified preparation. Perfect for busy weeknight dinners.
