Cookie Brownie Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (for cookies).
02 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
03 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.
04 - 1 stick unsalted butter, softened (for cookies).
05 - 1 teaspoon salt (for cookies).
06 - 1/2 cup packed brown sugar.
07 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for cookies).
08 - 1 egg (for cookies).
09 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cookies).
10 - 1 cup chocolate chips.
11 - 1 stick unsalted butter, cubed (for brownies).
12 - 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped.
13 - 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar (for brownies).
14 - 3 large eggs (for brownies).
15 - 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder.
16 - 1/2 teaspoon salt (for brownies).
17 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for brownies).
18 - 2/3 cup all-purpose flour (for brownies).

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 350°F. Line 9x13 pan with parchment, spray before and after lining.
02 - Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt for cookie dough.
03 - Beat butter with sugars until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Mix in flour mixture and chips.
04 - Melt butter and chocolate over simmering water. Mix in sugar, eggs, cocoa, salt, vanilla, then fold in flour.
05 - Pour brownie batter in pan. Crumble cookie dough on top. Cover with foil, bake 20 minutes, then uncover and bake 28-30 more minutes.
06 - Cool completely on wire rack. Lift out with parchment and cut into squares.

01 - Start checking doneness at 48 minutes total bake time.

03 - Can use any type of chocolate chips in cookie layer.
