Old-Fashioned Cheeseburger Pie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main

01 - 450 grams ground beef (80/20 ratio for optimal flavor)
02 - 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
03 - 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt
05 - 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
06 - 100 grams shredded cheddar cheese

→ Biscuit Batter

07 - 60 grams Bisquick baking mix
08 - 240 millilitres whole milk
09 - 2 large eggs

→ Optional Toppings

10 - Diced tomatoes
11 - Sliced pickles
12 - Ketchup
13 - Mustard

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 200°C.
02 - In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with finely chopped onion until beef is fully cooked and onions are soft and translucent, approximately 8–10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
03 - Stir in garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
04 - Lightly grease a 23-centimetre pie plate with butter or cooking spray.
05 - Distribute the beef mixture evenly in the pie plate. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
06 - In a medium bowl, whisk together Bisquick baking mix, whole milk, and eggs until smooth and fully combined.
07 - Pour the batter evenly over the beef and cheese layers, ensuring complete coverage.
08 - Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the centre comes out clean.
09 - Allow pie to rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with diced tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, or mustard if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Resting the pie before slicing allows the layers to set for cleaner portions.
