Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 5x9" loaf pan.

Mix flour, baking powder, lemon zest, and salt.

Cream butter and sugar with mixer until fluffy (4-6 minutes).

Beat in eggs one at a time.

Add vanilla and lemon juice, beating until combined.

Add flour mix and buttermilk alternately in thirds.

Pour batter in pan.

Bake 45-55 minutes until golden and toothpick comes clean.

Cool 15 minutes in pan.

Mix lemon juice and powdered sugar for syrup.

Remove cake from pan onto cooling rack and brush syrup over warm cake.
