Salisbury Steak With Mushroom Gravy (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound ground beef.
02 - 1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs.
03 - 1 large egg.
04 - 1 tablespoon whole milk.
05 - 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, divided.
06 - 3 tablespoons ketchup, divided.
07 - 1 teaspoon onion powder.
08 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder.
09 - 1 teaspoon black pepper.
10 - 3 tablespoons butter.
11 - 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced.
12 - 1 small onion, finely diced.
13 - 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour.
14 - 3 cups beef broth.
15 - 1 teaspoon dijon mustard.

# Instructions:

01 - Mix beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, 1 tbsp each Worcestershire and ketchup, and seasonings. Form into 4 oval patties.
02 - Brown patties in large skillet until crusty on both sides. Remove to plate.
03 - Add butter, mushrooms, onions to same pan. Cook until brown, scraping up browned bits.
04 - Stir in flour until golden. Gradually add broth, remaining Worcestershire, ketchup, and mustard.
05 - Return patties to pan. Simmer 10 minutes until meat reaches 165°F and gravy thickens.

# Notes:

01 - Can make 6 smaller patties instead of 4 large.
02 - Use 12-inch skillet for best results.
03 - Lean beef prevents greasy gravy.
