Gingerbread Man Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened.
02 - 1 large egg.
03 - 1/2 cup sugar.
04 - 1/4 cup cold water.
05 - 1/2 cup molasses.
06 - 3 1/2 cups flour.
07 - 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger.
08 - 1/4 teaspoon allspice.
09 - 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg.
10 - 2 egg whites.
11 - 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar.
12 - 3 cups powdered sugar.
13 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
14 - Holly sprinkles for decoration.
15 - Piping bag with #2 tip.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 350°F. Line cookie sheet with parchment.
02 - Beat butter, sugar, molasses, and egg until combined.
03 - Mix in cold water.
04 - Combine flour and spices in a separate bowl.
05 - Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet.
06 - Roll dough on floured surface to 1/4 inch thick.
07 - Cut with gingerbread man cookie cutter.
08 - Bake 10 minutes.
09 - Cool completely.
10 - Mix egg whites, cream of tartar, vanilla, and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
11 - Put icing in piping bag.
12 - Decorate cookies as desired.
13 - Let icing dry 1 hour before serving.

01 - No need to chill dough before rolling.
02 - Make sure cookies are completely cool before icing.
