French Onion Beef Casserole (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound ground beef.
02 - 1 cup long-grain white rice.
03 - 2 cups beef broth.
04 - 1 large onion, sliced thin.
05 - 1 tablespoon olive oil.
06 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder.
07 - 1 teaspoon onion powder.
08 - 1 teaspoon dried thyme.
09 - Salt and pepper to taste.
10 - 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese.
11 - 1/2 cup French fried onions.
12 - Fresh parsley for garnish.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 350°F and grease 9x13 baking dish.
02 - Sauté sliced onions in oil 10-12 minutes until golden.
03 - Add beef to onions, cook 5-7 minutes until browned and drain fat.
04 - Mix in garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt and pepper.
05 - Stir in uncooked rice and beef broth.
06 - Cover and bake 30 minutes, add cheese and bake 10-15 more minutes uncovered.
07 - Top with fried onions and parsley, rest 5 minutes.

02 - Makes good leftovers.
