Easy Sugar Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2¾ cups all-purpose flour.
02 - ½ teaspoon baking powder.
03 - ½ teaspoon baking soda.
04 - ½ teaspoon salt.
05 - 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature.
06 - 1½ cups granulated sugar.
07 - 1 large egg.
08 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
09 - ¼ cup granulated sugar (for coating).

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with silicone mats or parchment.
02 - Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
03 - Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
04 - Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
05 - Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mix until combined.
06 - Scoop 2 tablespoon portions of dough.
07 - Roll into balls, then coat in sugar.
08 - Place on sheets 2-3 inches apart.
09 - Bake 11-13 minutes until edges wrinkle and bottoms brown lightly.
10 - Cool 1-2 minutes on pan, then move to wire rack.

01 - Only coat dough in sugar right before baking for proper spreading.
02 - Can be frozen as dough balls or baked cookies.
03 - Skip sugar coating if planning to frost cookies later.
