Dog Birthday Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 3/4 cup all-purpose flour.
02 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
03 - 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
04 - 1 large egg.
05 - 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter.
06 - 2 tablespoons oil.
07 - 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce.
08 - 2 tablespoons honey.
09 - 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream for frosting.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 350°F. Line 6-inch round cake pan with parchment and spray with nonstick spray.
02 - Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, peanut butter, oil, applesauce, egg and honey until well combined. Pour into prepared pan.
03 - Bake 20-30 minutes until browned. Check with toothpick - should come out clean. Let cool completely.
04 - Whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Spread on cooled cake.

# Notes:

01 - Never use peanut butter containing xylitol - it's toxic to dogs.
02 - Can be made as a layer cake by doubling frosting.
03 - Consult vet if dog has food allergies.
