Bourbon Chicken (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 pounds chicken thighs.
02 - Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste.
03 - ⅓ cup bourbon.
04 - ¾ cup brown sugar.
05 - ¾ cup soy sauce.
06 - 2 cloves garlic, minced.
07 - 2 tablespoons cornstarch.
08 - 3 tablespoons cold water.
09 - Green onions for garnish (optional).

# Instructions:

01 - Season chicken thighs generously with salt and pepper.
02 - Place seasoned chicken in slow cooker.
03 - Mix bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, and minced garlic.
04 - Pour sauce mixture over chicken.
05 - Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 3 hours.
06 - In the last 30 minutes, mix cornstarch with cold water, stir into the sauce, and continue cooking until thickened.
07 - Serve hot over rice, garnished with green onions if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Can substitute apple juice for bourbon.
02 - Chicken thighs work better than breasts.
03 - Keeps in fridge 3-4 days.
04 - Sauce thickens more as it cools.
