Cherry Garcia Sheet Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips.
02 - 1 white cake mix.
03 - 3/4 cup water.
04 - 1/2 cup sour cream.
05 - 1/3 cup vegetable oil.
06 - 1 teaspoon almond extract.
07 - 4 egg whites.
08 - 20 ounces maraschino cherries (2 jars), divided.
09 - 1 cup butter, softened.
10 - 4 cups powdered sugar.
11 - 1 teaspoon almond extract.
12 - 1/3 cup cherry juice (reserved).

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 9x13 pan with flour-based cooking spray.
02 - Mix chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon cake mix until covered.
03 - Beat remaining cake mix, water, sour cream, oil, almond extract, egg whites until well mixed.
04 - Fold in dried chopped cherries and coated chocolate chips. Pour into pan.
05 - Bake 32-35 minutes. Cool completely.
06 - Beat butter, sugar, almond extract, and cherry juice. Stir in chopped cherries.
07 - Spread frosting over cooled cake.

01 - Pat cherries dry before using.
02 - Save cherry juice for frosting.
03 - Cool completely before frosting.
