Creamy Hot Crab Dip (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 12 ounces cream cheese, softened (1 ½ blocks)
02 - 6 green onions, finely chopped
03 - 5 tablespoons mayonnaise (¼ cup plus 1 tablespoon)
04 - 12 ounces canned crabmeat, drained (2 6-ounce cans)
05 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
06 - 1 teaspoon salt
07 - 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese or shredded mozzarella, divided
08 - Sliced green onions for garnish
09 - Crackers, chips, celery, or crostini for serving (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350° Fahrenheit (175° C).
02 - In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, green onions, mayonnaise, crabmeat, garlic powder, salt, and half of the shredded cheese. Stir until very well combined.
03 - Spread the mixture into a small 6-inch cast-iron skillet or 1-quart baking dish. Top with the remaining half cup of shredded cheese.
04 - Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven or until bubbly.
05 - Turn on the broiler and broil until the cheese on top is browned in spots.
06 - Remove from oven and let sit for 5-10 minutes before serving. The dip will be very hot.

# Notes:

01 - For a gluten-free appetizer, use gluten-free bread, crackers, or chips.
02 - To make crostini: Cut a baguette into 1/2-inch slices. Preheat oven to 350° and arrange slices in a single layer on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt and bake about 15 minutes until tops are just golden brown. Slices should feel firm but not entirely crisp yet. Let cool 10 minutes.
